As you always have obeyed,
Not only in my presence;
With fear and trembling conveyed,
Even more in my absence.

It is God who works in you,
Working for His good pleasure;
In His will that you pursue,
Salvation is your treasure.

Do all things without grumbling,
That you may remain blameless;
Unblemished without mumbling,
Be innocent and harmless.

No blemish without reproof,
In a cursed perverse nation;
Having pride being uncouth,
In a wry generation.

You shine as lights in the world,
Hold fast to the Word of life;
Rejoice when plans are unfurled,
Cause unbelievers their strife.

The day of Christ I am proud,
That is did not run in vain;
Seeing Him come in the cloud,
For the starting of His reign.

I am poured out as a drink,
Sacrificial offering;
Of my faith of what I think,
I’m glad for Christ’s buffering.

My joy rejoices in you,
Likewise, you rejoice with me;
For the future we pursue,
Our pleasure waits to see.
