As long as He is a child,
Differs nothing that from a slave;
Though He’d be Lord undefiled,
Raising others out of their grave.

Under tutors and governors,
Until the Father sets the date;
Spreading the Word to foreigners,
And to the Jews about their fate.

When we were children in bondage,
Enslaved to factors of this world;
None of us did have the courage,
Avoid temptations being hurled.

But when the fulness of time came,
God had sent forth to us His Son;
As the Holy Scriptures proclaim,
The Messiah, the Holy One.

Born from woman under the law,
To redeem us for salvation;
And erasing of any flaw,
Receiving for an adoption.

Abba! Father! your heart cries out,
As God sends His Holy Spirit;
No longer in having any doubt,
As to what we do inherit.

You’re no longer a slave to sin,
Now heirs as His sons and daughters;
Since we are purified within,
When bathed in baptismal waters.
