The Lord is my salvation,
My light that I always fear;
He keeps me from all temptation,
My God who I do revere.

He is the strength of my life,
Of whom shall I be afraid;
He helps in the midst of strife,
In trouble, He renders aid.

When the wicked assail me,
My adversaries and foes;
They who will stumble and flee,
As the Lord will cause their woes.

Though an army dwells near me,
My heart and soul shall not fear;
War arises I foresee,
Confident that God is near.

One thing I ask of the Lord,
That I may dwell in His house;
I remain in one accord,
In living there with my spouse.
