Gratify not your desires,
But keep in step with the Spirit;
Contrary what one admires,
Doing your spiritual merit.

Lusts of the flesh are against God,
And the Spirit against the flesh;
Profaned causes you to be flawed,
A corruption that will not mesh.

If you are led by the Spirit,
You’re no longer under the Law;
Assured that you will inherit,
Salvation to answer His call.

Works of the flesh are manifest,
As sexual impurity;
Fornication that’s filled with zest,
Lascivious adultery.

Idolatry which causes strife,
Greed that will lead to jealousy;
Fits of anger within your life,
Wrath stemming from a rivalry.

I warn you as I warned before,
Those who do shall not inherit;
If not confessed God won’t restore,
Because of immoral merit.

The fruit of the Spirit is love,
Joy, peace in having faithfulness;
Blessings will flow from up above,
For your patience and gentleness.

Your temperance and self-control,
And those who belong Jesus Christ;
No longer has lusts in your soul,
Passions that you become enticed.
