Sing to the Lord with thanksgiving,
Make a melody unto God;
Providing all needs for living,
And why we should honor and laud,

He covers the Heaven with clouds,
Which prepares the rain for the earth;
And makes the grass grow that enshrouds,
The ground sheltering all its worth.

He gives the beast of the field food,
And to the young ravens that cry;
They have all shown their gratitude,
Having stomachs full with a sigh.

His delight is not in the strength,
Of the horse in oats to treasure;
Nor man who perseveres at length,
What interests that he may pleasure.

But He takes pleasure those who fear,
Those who hope in His steadfast love;
Their faith in mercy to revere,
Thankful for blessings from above.
