My Fastness

Hear, O Lord when I cry aloud,
Be gracious and please answer me;
I lift my voice above the crowd,
As I bow down on bended knee.

“Seek my face,” My heart says to you,
For your face, O Lord, do I seek;
You are the One I look up to,
For I remain as humbly meek.

Why do you hide your face from me?
Not to turn away in anger;
You who have been my help can see,
Your consoling makes me languor.

My parents have forsaken me.
But You O Lord will take me in;
For my salvation You decree,
Has forgiven me of my sin.

Please teach me of Your Way, O Lord,
Lead me upon the righteous path;
For my enemies have ignored,
Of the warnings about Your Wrath.

Deliver me not to the will,
Of my foes who bear false witness;
They breathe out chaos to instill,
Since they lack spiritual fitness.

For I believe that I shall see,
Upon the goodness of the Lord;
In the land of the living free,
And with being in one accord.

I patiently wait for the Lord,
Being strong and taking to heart;
Of good courage that I afford,
Strengthening in what I impart.
