A Living Sacrifice

I urge by the mercy of God,
To be a living sacrifice;
To bodily honor and laud,
No longer let this earth entice.

Be holy to satisfy God,
Which is your spiritual worship;
Avoiding gods who are a fraud,
That possibly cause you to trip.

Do not be conformed to this place,
Transforming renewal of your mind;
You will become as a disgrace,
That will cause you to be maligned.

That by testing you may discern,
What God specifies in His will;
What is acceptable to learn,
Which is good and pure to instill.

For by the grace given to me,
I say to each one among you;
By using the insight to see,
For enabling you to construe.

Think not of yourself more highly,
Than Jesus would ought to think;
Become humble acting shyly,
While your prayer becomes a link.

Any judgment thought be sober,
As faith according to measure;
In both your leisure and labor,
God will reward you with treasure.

One body has many members,
Not all members not all the same;
But everyone remembers,
Being called upon by their name.

So, we are one body in Christ,
All having gifts that would dissent;
As their pleasures are sacrificed,
But what He commands they consent.

Gifts that differ given by grace,
Will serve to the One who teaches;
For the One who leads will embrace,
All those members that out reaches.
