An Explication of A Single Stanza

A 21st century poet wrote a verse known as "Anyone Can Write A Poem" in 2010. The gist of this post-modern versification is that we can write if we cannot speak. The reason why he has chosen poetry is because we have more flexibility with this art form than we do prose, which we have been trying to vary the vocabulary and/or the sentence structure in order to avoid the monotonous redundancy. Indeed, he has incorporated a variety of rhetorical devices that contribute to the overall effect of the poem by advocating for all of us who would rather write than speak. The following explication will identify the stylistic elements in the poetic paragraph.
First of all, he has used repetition in this metrical composition. One example of this replication involves but is not restricted to the alliteration of "my mother" in line 27. A specific illustration of this tongue twister embodies the consonance of "woman would" in phrase seven. Similarly, there is the assonance of "am arguing" in the very first line. Likewise, there the parallelism of his defense on our behalf: "I say some people are" in the successive lines three and four.
Moreover, there are several representations of slant rhyme. For instance, there is "online" in clause 1. What's more, there is "listen" in phrase 19.
Furthermore, there are the morphemes "out" and "heart" in succession 17-18. This oblique rhyme is an alternative to the perfect rhyme, which is virtually absent from this work of art yet the half rhyme still creates rhythm and meter in order to give the masterpiece its sense of musicality.
Other than these echos, there is imagery in this text. For example, there is "the Black Atlantic" in verse line seven and the "Wonderful Genius" in the 24th line of poetry. Interestingly, the former image is actually part of a hyperbole that begins in phrase five and continues through clause thirteen. Another case in point of this exaggeration appears in lines 14-15 when he says that he would "write even if someone cuts off his hand" and this means that he really enjoys writing, which any of us can pursue if we are enthusiastic or excited enough.
As a matter of fact, this gift of creative expression can honestly be an outlet for intense emotions such as excitement or boredom. Because most of our words have been misconstrued anyway, we are better with authentic communication than oral communication. This way, we can help and/or encourage others without disrespecting or offending anyone. We can also take our time and choose our words carefully so that we don't risk hurting anybody's feelings. This is why many of us are afraid or ashamed to speak as the author conveys in lines 3-4 plus we don't want to get into an argument with anyone at all....
